Privacy and Confidentiality


The Princeton Public Library protects the privacy of those who use the library and its services to prevent unauthorized use of customers’ personal information. We retain only information that is necessary for library operations. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A: 73-43.1.2, library records deemed confidential will not be made available to the public, press, or any other agency of state, federal of local government without a proper court issued subpoena or court order.


Cardholders under 18 years of age: If you are under the age of 18 and have an outstanding library account balance exceeding $20.00, we may share information about your account, including a list of overdue of replacement items, and outstanding balances, with your parent(s) or guardian(s).
