The Friends of the Princeton Public Library is a membership organization dedicated to supporting, enhancing and promoting the work of the Library. The Friends consists of more than 1,000 members who contribute financially to the Library through an annual appeal each November. Additional funds are realized through the gently used book sale, Library Store, benefits and grants funds to support specific library programs. The Friends use these funds to make an annual gift to the library that supplements public funds allocated by the governing bodies of Princeton Borough and Township. The Friends provide funding for 50% of the new book budget 60% of the audio books, and 64% of the video and DVD budget. The Friends also sponsor many of the Library's programs including:
The Friends are the sole source of funding for library outreach programs to the community, staff development and continuing education. |
