$10 Million Worth of Endowment Ideas

By 2009, when the library is 100 years old, we hope to have a $10 million endowment contributing to the excellence of our library.

The Princeton Public Library Foundation welcomes gifts of all sizes for the endowment.

We offer named endowment opportunities for gifts of $25,000 or more.

Your gift to the Princeton Public Library Foundation for endowment may be unrestricted or can be designated for one of the three following funds:

The Collection Fund – $5 Million Goal
Most people are surprised to learn that the library receives no funding for books from Princeton Borough and Township. Generous donations from individuals and from the Friends of the Library along with revenues received from DVD/video rentals, room rental fees and late fines help us to buy new items each year, but without an endowment our materials budget is unpredictable.

The New Initiatives Fund – $4 Million Goal
The fund is designed to support innovation and experimentation and will allow us to set the standard for public library service in Princeton and throughout the country.

The Program Fund – $1 Million Goal
During the last few years, the library has experienced phenomenal success with its rich offerings of free programs for children and adults. Attendance has soared since we opened the new library where we have wonderful spaces for both large and small group activities.
