Health on the Net Foundation (HON) is a non-profit
international organization which provides leadership
in setting ethical standards for Web site developers.
Look for Web sites displaying the HONcode logo to
be sure these eight standards are met. Two other
national organizations committed to high quality
health information on the Internet are Internet
Healthcare Coalition and Health
Internet Ethics (Hi-Ethics).

Code of Ethics for Web site content providers.
- URAC
Health Web Site Accreditation URAC is a major
health Web site accreditation organization that
requires sites to adhere to a "variety of standards
relating to health site quality and integrity including
privacy and security, an editorial process that
fosters the creation of reliable information, and
internal structures that promote quality." The site
provides a list of their accredited health Web sites.
