DESCRIPTION
Since 1996, Kidsbridge has recognized large voids in the
learning of life skills, character education and diversity
appreciation, and currently fulfills the Kidsbridge mission with
the tolerance museum and ongoing outreach programs.
PROGRAMS
Mini Museum/Learning Lab: at the College of New Jersey in
Ewing, NJ. The museum features the exhibit "Face to Face:
Dealing with Prejudice and Discrimination" created by the
Chicago Children's Museum. TCNJ undergraduates and
professors have successfully interacted with approximately
2500 elementary and middle school children. The Museum is
open for bookings from school groups, scouts, clubs,
church/temple and other leadership groups. Call 609-581-0239

Peer to Peer Leadership Program for middle schoolers
Anti-Bullying/Gang Resistance/Life Skill Programs: Program
conducted over the last 6 years at Trenton's Robeson
Elementary School; a similar program has been conducted at
Hedgepeth-Williams Middle School in Trenton for at-risk middle
schoolers who are truant, suspended and being referred for
detention. From September to May, at-risk students meet
weekly in small groups for sessions with mentors and college
students. The program culminates in a graduation ceremony.
Young Humanitarian Awards: Annual awards to individual
students and student groups and adults who have offered acts
of kindness or outstanding community service. Winners are
nominated each year by school administrators and teachers.
