DESCRIPTION
A private, non-profit association of friends of Rockingham, who
support the historic site. Rockingham, built ca. 1710 is a living
history museum of the Colonial period, located approximately 1
mile outside Kingston, NJ. It is best known as George
Washington's last wartime headquarters in 1783. Here he wrote
the Farewell Orders to the Armies bringing the Revolutionary
War to a close. Rockingham has a fine collection of 18th-century
antiques and artifacts and a replica kitchen garden planted and
maintained by the Stony Brook Garden Club of Princeton.
PROGRAMS
Various short programs throughout the winter.
Live Historians Program: Trains Montgomery High School
students as interpreters. Summer internships are available to
students who participate in the program.
