DESCRIPTION
An organization which offers developmental asset-building
programs to children, 3-12 years old, dealing with such issues
as prevention of child abuse, prevention of drug abuse, teaching
self-esteem and assertiveness, and helping children and youth
make the right life choices. All programs are delivered in school,
during school hours. The mission is to build caring, confident
youth and future leaders.
PROGRAMS
I'm Safe & Sure: Comprehensive personal safety, child abuse
prevention program focusing on increasing children's self-
esteem and self-reliance skills from preschool through second
grade. The program includes six sessions presented in school
by Camp Fire professional staff. Parent/teacher materials.

Count On Me Kids: Self-esteem, substance abuse prevention
program which focuses on raising the child's self-concept as a
way of preventing vulnerability to negative peer pressure.
Preschool through third grade. The program includes six in-
school presentations by Camp Fire professional staff.

Caution Without Fear: Comprehensive, self-reliance program
for children dealing with being at home alone. Skills taught are
conflict resolution, substance abuse prevention, abduction
prevention. Second through fifth grade. The program includes
six in-school presentations by Camp Fire professional staff.

Gift of Giving: Service learning program for children in
Kindergarten through sixth grade which focuses on teaching
service to one's community through identifying a need,
planning a service project, doing the project, evaluating and
celebrating the results. Camp Fire trains a volunteer to work

Peer Proof: 5th through 7th grades. Through role-playing and
discussion the program covers decision making, harassment,
peer issues, substance issues, external influences, judging

Reach Out and Read (ROR): a national early literacy program
that uses volunteers to read and share books with infants and
toddlers in pediatric clinics as a way to model for parents the
importance and pleasure of positive communication and early
language stimulation for their children. Children are given the
