DESCRIPTION

A non-profit tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization which oversees

community outreach programs including  the Crisis Ministry of

Princeton and Trenton,  the Trenton After School Program

(TASP),  (www.trentonafterschoolprogram.org); the Trenton

Children's Chorus (TCC), (www.trentonchildrenschorus.org);

and Housing Initiatives of Princeton LLC (HIP),

(www.trinityprinceton.org/outreach.asp).  POPI is sponsored by

Nassau Presbyterian Church and Trinity Episcopal Church of

Princeton.

PROGRAMS

Crisis Ministry of Princeton and Trenton:  Non-profit

organization and program whose purpose is to give short-term

assistance for emergency needs while long-range solutions are

sought.  It provides services to people who are hungry, who

are facing eviction or utility shut-offs, or who have medical

needs they cannot meet.  Contact Rev. Marcia McKillop,

office at 609-921-2135; MON-THU:  9:00 AM - 12:00 noon -

Trenton After School Program (TASP):  Provides after-school

tutoring and enrichment activities,  mentoring and summer

camp assistance to children in the West Ward of Trenton. TASP

is a licensed Child Care Agency with the Division of Youth and

Family Services of New Jersey.  Contact Tina Blackledge,

947-4679; Service hours:  2:30 PM - 5:30 PM at Trinity

Cathedral in Trenton.

Trenton Children's Chorus - grades 2-8, Tuesday afternoons

from 2:45 - 5:30.  Two choirs, beginning and advanced plus

Housing Initiatives of Princeton - Transitional housing program

seeks to provide housing, supervision, and social services for

low-income families who are homeless or under-housed.
