DESCRIPTION

The government agency, administered by the New Jersey

Commerce Commission, which assists and

encourages the establishment, growth and expansion of small

businesses and women and minority owned enterprises by

offering information and assistance, and by shaping public

policies that affect the small business community.

PROGRAMS

Set-Aside and Certification Program:  Provides New Jersey small

businesses with support and assistance in

procurement/bidding for State and Federal contracts,

registration for set-aside contracts, and certification.  Call 1-888-239-1288.

Selective Assistance Vendor Information Database (SAVI-II):  A

computerized central registry of certified/registered businesses

and their related products and services.  It affords both state

and private sector buyers the opportunity to locate businesses

for bidding and direct purchases.  Call 609-292-2146.

Small Business Development Centers:  Provides funding for

these centers throughout the state which provide technical

assistance to small businesses.
