DESCRIPTION

Nonprofit activities geared to developing in youth of all

backgrounds a sense of themselves and the world-at-large, by

encouraging effective communication skills and dialog via the

media.  Programs have included the Youth Speaks Up radio

show and the Minorities Journalism Workshop, inaugurated in

1963 and 1979, respectively. Volunteers comprise the group

and oversee or perform current tasks - e.g., audio archive

processing, cataloging, research and program development.
