DESCRIPTION

An independent, private non-profit, all-volunteer organization

committed to enhancing the quality of the educational

experience for students and prospective students of Princeton

Regional Schools through private support of projects and

programs. The foundation was created in order maintain

educational excellence in the Princeton public schools, and to

support district-wide projects with its funds

(excluding state mandated programs or basic education

requirements). Each year the organization awards mini-grants for

classroom projects to teachers, administrators, or other school

personnel on a competitive basis in cooperation with the

Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools.

It funds otheer programs and capital needs as requested

by the school administration. Donations from corporations,

foundations, alumni and the Princeton community are welcome. 

PROGRAMS

Take a Seat Campaign: Raised $240,000 for new Princeton High

School Auditorium, providing the choral shell, pit cover and acoustic

enhancements.

Fitness Center Campaign: provided over $100,000 for equipment

and programs for the new PHS fitness center, to ensure equal

access and healthy life styles among middle school and high

school students.

Curriculum Development:  Development of business and

economics curriculum at the high school.

Cisco Academy - 2-year curriculum at Princeton High School

leading to networking certificate.

Mini-Grants to Teachers:  Since 1995, PEF has awarded Princeton

teachers more than $125,000 for more than 150 creative education

projects across all six schools. These grants are awarded on a

yearly basis.
