Friends of the Institute Land; inactive as
of 1998
DESCRIPTION
An organization which was dedicated to ensuring the permanent
preservation of the approximately 589 acres of Princeton
Township land known as the Institute Woods and Farmland, and
the protection of its existing environmental and historical
integrity. The group named the Institute Land as the most
important open space remaining in the Princeton area--a
renowned bird habitat, part of an intact Revolutionary War
battlefield, a buffer between Route 1, and a place of enjoyment
for generations of local residents. The founding members of the
group, which was one of the first organizations belonging to
the Institute Lands Preservation Committee, were Ron Berlin,
Helmit Schabb, Constance Greiff, Tom Southerland, Mark
Leuschten and David Stoll. The group became inactive in 1998
after achieving its goals.
