DESCRIPTION
A central New Jersey non-profit association of professional jazz,
blues and other American roots music musicians. Its purposes
are: to promote an awareness of and appreciation for
indigenous American music growing out of the African-American,
Latin American and European-American traditions; to provide
mutual support and a network for musicians who play this music
which assists them in finding audiences and students; to
provide counsel and expertise to organizations, musical
establishments and educational institutions which promote this
music; and to engage other artists and scholars to present
special events that showcase roots music.
