Mercer Citizens for Public
Accountability; inactive as of 1-98
ALTERNATE NAME
MCPA
DESCRIPTION
A grassroots, Princeton-based, volunteer advocacy group which
encouraged Mercer County citizens to be informed on economic
issues, and to publicly question proposed programs which do
not support fiscal responsibility. Following the defeat of the
proposed Duck Island incinerator in 1996, which MCPA cited as a
financial disaster for taxpayers, the group focused on an
Environment First strategy for solid waste management which
maximizes reliance on waste prevention, reuse and recycling.
