DESCRIPTION

This local chapter of the American Recorder Society promotes

the appreciation of the recorder as a musical instrument through

performance and instruction.  Monthly meetings are held

September to May on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at the

Kingston Presbyterian Church, from 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM with a

half-hour of fellowship at 7:00 PM before members start playing.

Different conductors introduce a variety of music from medieval

to modern for all levels of playing ability.  The chapter maintains

a library of recorder music and has some instruments that

members may borrow.

PROGRAMS

A one-day recorder workshop is held once a year,  in April at

the Unitarian Church of Princeton.  Mini-courses are taught by

various faculty on a variety of subjects for members.  Some

consorts (small ensembles) are willing to play for local events

(concerts, fairs, church services, weddings, nursing homes).

Terms are set by the performing group.
