DESCRIPTION

A professional association of lawyers practicing in Mercer County

whose aim is to strengthen professional bonds, to maintain

standards of practice, to keep members informed of the current

state of legal practice in Mercer County, and to provide

assistance to the public in the form of community programs,

free seminars designed to inform and educate, and continuing

legal education seminars for the membership.

PROGRAMS

Hey, I'm 18! presentation to high school students. Call 585-

6200 to schedule a presentation.

Lawyer Referral Service: A program which provides residents of

Mercer County free assistance in obtaining an attorney in a

particular legal area.

Volunteer Lawyers Project:  A program operated in conjunction

with the Legal Aid Society of Mercer County, which provides

lawyers to handle cases of non-emergent matters free of

charge to low income residents of Mercer County. Clients are

screened through Legal Aid.

Lawyers C.A.R.E.:  Provides individuals 15 minute free legal

consultation the 2nd Wednesday of each month at a  free legal

clinic held  at the Quakerbridge Mall. The objective is to counsel,

provide assistance, inform residents about resources, and

educate them about the legal system and how it can work for

them.  Call for the next date.

Kids Instructed in Tolerance through Education and Support

(KITES):  Program which enables children to learn tolerance and

conflict resolution skills.  Call 609-585-6200 for further

information.

Mercer County Bar Foundation:  Organization founded in 1995

to aid in the funding of law-related programs in the county.
