DESCRIPTION

A non-profit regional citizens group which brings together

people of all ages, backgrounds, professions and political

persuasions around three priority goals:  global abolition of

nuclear weapons, a peace economy, and a halt to weapons

trafficking.  It has Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)

standing with the United Nations, and has two delegates who

represent CFPA at U.N. activities.  There are 17 active local

CFPA affiliates in central and southern New Jersey and

Pennsylvania.  Affiliated with Peace Action , the largest U.S. grassroots peace group.

PROGRAMS

Peace Action Education Fund (PAEF):  Non-profit tax-exempt

corporation which conducts educational work.  Various

committees are the Peace Education Committee, which

organizes the annual Conference and Interfaith Service,

International Citizen Diplomacy Committee, and Students for

Peace, a racially diverse group of teens trained to introduce

conflict resolution techniques in their regional schools.

Committee for Political Action:  Committee of the CFPA which

organizes lobbying, demonstrations, vigils, rallies and briefings.
