DESCRIPTION

The Princeton Girlchoir, founded in 1989 by Janet A. Westrick, is

a growing and vibrant organization dedicated to training young

female singers in a choral setting.  There are currently four

auditioned choirs:   The Grace Notes (introductory); The Semi-

Tones (intermediate); the Concert Choir (the primary choir) and

the Cantores (high school choir).

Girls are accepted from Grades 3-12 and placed in

the appropriate choir level based on the audition.  All choirs

perform varied age-appropriate repertoire, including classical,

folk, jazz, and popular music in various languages.  As a

community based choir, PGC is represented by girls in more

than 25 communities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  Auditions are held in April

for the following year.

PROGRAMS

The Princeton Girlchoir performs two major concerts each year,

winter and spring, as well as performing for groups, both local

and beyond the immediate Princeton area.

The Concert Choir tours every summer for 1-2 weeks in July.
