DESCRIPTION
A Mercer County government office which administers the
probating of wills, settling of estates, filing of adoptions and
appointing of guardians for minors and incapacitated persons.
The Surrogate is an elected position. The Surrogate performs
wedding/civil union ceremonies.
PROGRAMS
Satellite Program: A program which takes surrogate services
on the road eight times a month to a county municipal building
or local senior center to probate wills and appoint
administrators of estates. Satellite offices are in Lawrence,
Ewing, Hamilton, East Windsor, Princeton Townships,
Pennington, Hopewell Township and Washington Township.
