DESCRIPTION

A county government agency which works to develop and

improve housing conditions of, and promote home ownership

for, low and moderate income families, senior citizens and the

developmentally disabled of Mercer County. Refer to the website

for eligivility requirements for all programs offered by the

Mercer County Housing Authority.

PROGRAMS

Home Investment Partnerships Program/Affordable Housing

Consortium:  Provides financial and technical assistance on

behalf of affordable housing projects for low and moderate

income families recommended to receive assistance by

Consortium members which include:  E. Windsor, Ewing,

Hamilton, Hopewell Township, Lawrence, Princeton Township,

W. Windsor, Washington Township, Hightstown Boro, Hopewell

Boro, Pennington Boro and Princeton Boro.  Also provides

bridge gap financing to developers and non-profits.  Eligible

projects may include acquisition, demolition, construction and

rehabilitation.

Mercer County Rehabilitation Program: Provides assistance to Mercer

County Consortium residents for maintenance repairs and modification

of their homes through zero interest deferred loans.

Mercer County Weatherization Program:  Provides grants

and technical assistance to income-eligible families requiring

energy conservation improvements.  Improvements may include, but

are not limited to, replacement or repair of heating system,

and insulation work.

Community Housing Development Organization Assistance

(CHDO):  Provides financial and technical assistance to

qualifying local non-profits.  Eligible projects may include

rehabilitation, demolition, construction and acquisition.

First Time Home Buyer Program:  Provides interest

free deferred loans to income eligible families for down

payment/closing cost assistance.  Includes below market rate

mortgage.


Helping Hands for Seniors Program:  Provides assistance to the

elderly for maintenance repair and modification of their homes.
