DESCRIPTION
The function of the Mercer County Cultural & Heritage
Commission is to enrich the lives of the residents of Mercer
County through promotion and support of arts programming;
community development and promotion of public interest in
understanding of historic and cultural matters; and for the
administration of the Local Arts Program Grants to nonprofit
local art organizations through a State/County Block Grant
Partnership with the County of Mercer and the New Jersey State
Council on the Arts, a Partner Agency of the National
Endowment for the Arts.
PROGRAMS
2 Annual Juried Exhibits: one for Mercer County artists held at
Mercer County Community College and a Mercer County Senior
Art Exhibit held at various locations.
Bi-annual Juried Photography Exhibit: held in 2007 at Mercer County
Community College Art Gallery.
Music in the Park Concert Series: a summer series of 8 free
concerts held in Mercer County Park, West Windsor Township,
featuring a variety of professional musical groups.
Mercer County Teen Arts Festival: held in 2007 at Mercer
County Community College.
Participation in Trenton Heritage Days Festival
Grant contracts to local nonprofit arts organizations
