DESCRIPTION
A comprehensive, publicly supported college that provides
oppportunities for higher education through an open-door
admissions policy at its West Windsor and downtown Trenton
James Kerney campuses. Mercer offers both credit and noncredit
day, evening and weekend courses and distance learning
courses. Students may enroll in degree granting or non-credit
programs of study, full or part time. Senior citizens
65 years of age or older who reside in Mercer County may
enroll in credit and noncredit courses wthout charge, subject to
space availability.
PROGRAMS
Credit Program: The college offers more than 60 associate
degree programs and more than 30 credit certificate programs.
Qualified students who enroll in the Dual Admissions Program
are guaranteed transfer to The College of New Jersey, Montclair
State University, the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Rider
University and Rutgers University. Articulation agreements with
other colleges nationwide facilitate the transfer process.
Distance learning is available through The Virtual Campus. A
variety of scholarships, loans, grants and work study programs
are available through the Financial Aid Office. Approximately
11,000 students take credit courses at Mercer each year. More
than half of the college's associate degree graduates continue
their education in bachelor's degree programs.
Continuing Education: Mercer's Center for Continuing Studies
offers noncredit courses and certificate programs year-round
for career and personal enrichment. Continuing Education Units
(CEUs) are awarded. Noncredit course catalogs are available at

available for businesses through the Center for Training and
Development. The Career Training Institute provides intensive,
short-term training in a variety of career fields at the James
Kerney campus.
The Corporate Conference Center on Mercer's West Windsor
campus is a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the
training and conference needs of the business, government and
nonprofit communities. It features fully equipped computer
labs, videoconferencing, satellite teleconferencing, and a 219-
seat, conference-style auditorium with laptop ports.
Youth Development and College Prep programs: includes
Upward Bound, Project Smile and GearUp. Enriching summer
programs include Camp College, Tomato Patch Visual and
Performing Arts Camp, and Sports Camps.
The English Language Institute at the James Kerney campus
offers multiple levels of instruction for people whose first
language is not English. Courses in ESL are available at both
campuses.
Kelsey Theatre, a 385-seat theatre, hosts year-round theatrical
and cultural events for adults and children. Information is

operates WWFM public radio, a classical music station. The
Gallery features the work of regional artists and is free and
open to the public.
