DESCRIPTION
A state government agency, administered by the New Jersey
Department of the Treasury, which administers the State's tax
laws and provides assistance to taxpayers concerning New
Jersey taxes and property tax relief programs.
PROGRAMS
Customer Services Branch: This office is responsible for
encouraging voluntary compliance by providing taxpayers the
information and assistance they need to meet their New Jersey
tax responsibilities. It staffs the Customer Service Center
(listed above) with a maximum of 85 agents who answer
questions on most taxes and programs administered by the
Division and resolve account-related problems by making on-
line adjustments. The NJ Business Paperless Filing System
allows registered businesses to file certain New Jersey tax
returns using a touch-tone telephone. Other automated toll-
free services provided include recorded tax information and
automated refund inquiry systems, and the NJ TaxFax Service
which makes available state income tax forms and other
technical information to fax machine users. Our website
provides forms and publications information on property tax
relief programs and 2 ways to fast file your New Jersey
resident return.
Technical Education Office: Administers the Division's Speakers
Bureau, the Small Business Workshop series, and participates
in Corporate Seminars to promote business activity in New Jersey.
Information and Publications Branch: Responsible for the
Division's Internet Home Page and answering customers'
correspondence and e-mail.
