DESCRIPTION

A county government agency, administered by the Mercer

County Department of Human Services, which provides

information, referral, and advocacy services to county residents

concerning disability related issues.

PROGRAMS

ADA Compliance Program:  A program which provides technical

assistance to Mercer County residents, businesses and

institutions in complying with ADA (Americans with Disabilities

Act) compliance regulations.

Personal Assistance Services Program:  A program which

provides personal assistants to chronically, physically disabled

adults in Mercer County ages, 18 to 65, to assist with personal

care, chores, errands, and light housekeeping.

Recreation Services Program:  Programs providing children and

adults with disabilities in Mercer County with opportunities for

organized, year-round recreation and socialization with their

peers.

Project A.D.U.L.T.S.:  A program providing transitional services

and employment for students graduating from Mercer County

Special Services School District.

Mercer County Arts Institute:  A theater program for children

with disabilities taught in conjunction with VSA Arts of NJ

at the Mercer County Special Services School District.
