DESCRIPTION

A government agency administered by the Mercer County

Department of Human Services and advised by the Mercer

County Youth Services Commission which plans and coordinates

services to children and youth ages 0-18 residing in Mercer

County.

PROGRAMS

Mercer County Interagency Coordinating Council (CIACC):

Shannon L. Scott, Mercer County CIACC Coordinator - serves

as the mechanism to develop and maintain a responsible,

acceptable and integrated system of care for children with

special behavioral, emotional and mental health concerns and

their families through the involvement of parents, consumers,

youth and child serving agencies as partners. The CIACC

currently meets no more than six times a year on the fourth

Thursday of the month.

Mercer County State Incentive Program - Phase III (SIP)P Tia

Sanders Director - Works to address the needs of 12 Mercer

County males between the ages of 13 and 17 who otherwise

would have been committed to or placed residentially in a

Juvenile Justice Commission facility, repeat offenders typically

with a violation of probation and with a 3rd or 4th degree

adjudication in their court history or first-time offenders with a

serious charge that warrants commmitment. The program

works to build on the strengths of communities using existing

collaborative relationships and demonstrate ways in which the

program can support the youth and their families. Youth will

stay in this program for 12 months and participate in six

months of aftercare services.
