DESCRIPTION
Federal/State Health Assistance Program that provides payment
for pharmacy, doctor, hospital inpatient care, hearing aids, X-ray
and laboratory services, medical transportation,optometry and
dental care to individuals receiving Temporary Assistance to
Needy Families, Refugee Resettlement Program and recipients of
Supplemental Security Income. Medicaid also pays for nursing
home care for eligible individuals. Individuals and/or families not
on Temporary Assistance to Needy Families may be eligible for
Medicaid if they meet the requirements.
PROGRAMS
Medicaid: 609-989-4664: Medicaid Assistance Program;
Medicaid Special Programs; Medicaid Only/Jersey Care; New
Jersey Medicaid Traumatic Brain Injury
Child Support and Paternity Program: Objective is to improve
the enforcement of the child support and paternity obligations
of legally responsible parents. Offered services include parental
location, establishment of paternity, support orders, and
upward modifications of existing orders. Available to all Mercer
County residents for a $6 fee. See website for further information.
Social Services Program: Offers individuals eligible for
Temporary Assistance to Needy Families or individuals on limited
income the following social services: Adult Social Services ,
Adult Protective Services, Emergency Assistance Program,
Early Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment, Family
Planning, Medical Transportation. For more detailed information,

Work First NJ Programs: Temporary Assistance to Needy
Families (TANF); general assistance (GA); Refugee resettlement
program (see Program 5).
Refugee Resettlement Program: The WorkFirst NJ Refugee
Resettlement Program provides cash and medical assistance to
individuals who fled from and cannot return to their place of
national origin because of fear of persecution due to race,
religion, or political opinion. All refugee cases, including GA-
type, are administered by MCBOSS for a 8 month period of
possible eligibility. All refugee cases are 100% federally funded.
