DESCRIPTION
The local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International
(Americus, GA) which works in partnership with the poor to
build decent, affordable housing. Partner Families contribute at
least 500 sweat equity hours to the rehabilitation and building,
and the completed home is sold at no profit with a no-interest
loan to a Partner Family. Habitat relies heavily on volunteers for
all its activities, and funds for construction come from private sources.
