Maybe you've just finished reading Dressed for Death by Donna Leon and you're trying to figure out what the next title is in the series. When you go to the shelves, there are so many books by her.
Cue: growing frustration.
What do you do? You can't make heads or tails of where to find the right order of books. The titles listed inside the first few pages don't seem to be chronologically accurate. The answer is simple. You can either:
1. Ask the librarian at the desk.
Or
2. Get yourself to the nearest empty computer and go to www.fictiondb.com.
If you did do a search for this book, you'd discover quickly that it is the third book in the Guido Brunetti Mystery Series, originally published in 1994. You could click on the link to the name of the series, and, voila, the list of all of the titles appears. Nice.
In addition to being a great resource for determining books in a series, it's also useful in finding complete author bibliographies with publication information (including isbns and multiple formats); providing further reading recommendations from LibraryThing; and, it also has lists of authors (with links to their work) within different genres to give you ideas of other authors you might want to try.
A good amount of information is available freely, or you can opt to register for free; or sign up for a premium account. The premium account enables you to create an online catalog of your own books. This, however, is something for which you might want to consider using LibraryThing or GoodReads.
