- The Library provides more than 100 PCs for public
use. PC reservation software, Smart Access Manager
(SAM), allows users to log on to the libraries computers
using their library card number and PIN code. Library
card holders may use the Library’s PC’s
up to four hours per day.
- Individuals without library cards may request
a visitor card that allows them to use the library’s
computers for a one hour session per day. Customers
without cards may purchase a visitors card that
provides them with the same computer privileges
as card holders. The fee is $25 for six months.
- All printing and/or downloading must be completed
within the time limit of your computer session.
You will receive a warning 10 minutes prior to the
end of your session and another five minutes prior
to the end of the session. You will be automatically
logged off at the end of each hour long session.
Any work not saved will be lost at that time.
- Library computers designated for public access
will be available on a first-come, first-served
basis and may not be reserved in advance.
- You may establish an account on the SAM system
to cover the costs of your computer printing. Black
and white printouts are $.15 per page; color printouts
are $.25 per page.
- Only library-provided software may be used on
the library's computers. Software owned or supplied
by users may not be installed or used on library
computers.
- Users may not alter or attempt to alter the setup
of library computers.
- Users may not save their data on the hard drives
of library computers. Users must supply their own
formatted data disks. Formatted disks may be purchased
at any of the service desks for $1.00.) Library
staff will not format discs for users, nor can users
format their discs on the library's computers.
- Computer programs protected by copyright laws
must not be copied for personal use.
- Users are asked to respect the privacy of other
computer users.
- The computers in the Youth Services Department
are reserved for use by children only when the Princeton
Regional Schools are not in session. Adults may
use them when school is in session.
- The Library is not responsible for any damage
done to computer users' disks, data, hardware or
software by any virus which may have been contacted
on or through library equipment. Although the Library
has installed virus protection on its computers
it is always possible for a new virus to appear
and therefore protection can not be guaranteed.
- The Library is not responsible for any damage
done to computer users' disks, data, hardware or
software as a result of the malfunctioning of library
hardware or software.
- Time permitting, library staff will try to help
with basic computer problems. Regrettably, staff
is not able to offer extensive explanations or provide
in-depth training.
- Misuse of library computers may result in the
suspension or loss of the privilege to use them.
