DESCRIPTION
An organization of 450 women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers, with a focus on children's and women's issues. The group identifies a need in the community and trains its members to meet those needs; projects are developed and nurtured until they can be turned over to the community. It offers a unique opportunity for a diverse group of women to receive training, personal insight and fulfillment along with lasting friendships. Member, Association of Junior Leagues International Inc.

PROGRAMS
Community Service Grants: Monies awarded annually to non-profit agencies within Mercer and Bucks counties for projects or programs specifically designed to support children and wome's issues.
State Public Affairs Committee (SPAC): Representatives from the eight NJ Junior Leagues, who advocate on behalf of issues impacting women, children, the environment and education.
Annual community projects with 3 organizations in the area which focus on early childhood education and literacy.

MEMBERSHIP
All women over the age of 21 who demonstrate a commitment to volunteerism regardless of race, religion, or national origin.
FEES/DUES
Active - $125 per year; Sustaining - $85; Provisional - $125. Paid yearly.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Designer Showhouse: Fundraiser held every 2-3 years since 1974, drawing more than 10,000 people, which features the work of local designers and landscape architects in transforming a home and its grounds into a magnificent showplace. Next Showhouse is Spring, 2004.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Yearly to college-bound girls who have demonstrated a commitment to volunteerism through a wide range of activities. Applications due late February.
