DESCRIPTION
The local chapter of a national organization which fosters the highest standards of excellence in the practice of the art of embroidery, including crewel, cross stitch, and needlepoint; it aims to preserve the art's heritage through an active program of education and study. Activities include lectures, workshops, field trips and exhibitions. The group also embroiders pieces for historic houses (e.g.., the firescreen at the Governor's mansion), and for community outreach (e.g., tea towel sets for Habitat for Humanity, bibs for hospitalized children). All skill levels welcome.
PROGRAMS
Classes of instruction are held at monthly meetings, and members may work on any needlework during that time.
