DESCRIPTION
Located off Parkside Avenue in Trenton, N.J., Ellarslie is an Italian-style mansion designed by architect John Notman, built in 1848 as the summer residence of Philadelphia lawyer Henry McCall Sr. Property was acquired by the City of Trenton in 1888 to form Cadwalader Park, designed by Frederick Law Olmstead. In 1973 Ellarslie was designated a historic site by the National Register. The Trenton City Museum is owned by the City of Trenton and maintained by the Department of Recreation, Natural Resources and Culture. Ellarslie is supported by the Trenton Museum Society.
