DESCRIPTION
CHCS is a nonprofit health policy resource center advancing the quality of health care services for low-income groups, racially and ethnically diverse populations, and people with chronic illnesses and disabilities, including frailties associated with aging. With resources from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the Commonwealth Fund, the California HealthCare Foundation, Kaiser Permanente, and others, CHCS works with state agencies, health plans, providers and consumer groups to develop cost-effective solutions for the challenges they face in improving publicly financed care. CHCS believes that Medicaid, as the nation's largest health care purchaser and the most sophisticated purchaser of managed care services, is uniquely positioned to demonstrate the long-term value of investing in quality improvements.
