DESCRIPTION
A national, non-profit organization providing employment services and appropriate housing for more than 1500 people with disabilities throughout New Jersey, New York, New Mexico, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Texas. The agency also advocates for disability issues worldwide by shring its expertise, knowledge and best practices in Egypt, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.

SERVICES
Housing, employment, personal and social services - people with disabilities. The organization manages more than 120 homes. Bank financing is used to purchase and remodel homes to ensure full accessibility for individuals with disabilities.

PROGRAMS
Employment: People with severe disabilities are placed in real jobs at minimum wage or better. The technology department works with employers to adapt and apply relevant technology.

Option Quest: A community based alternative to traditional day programs. Activities include employment, volunteer opportunities, continuing education, civic, community and recreational activities.

Community Options Business Advisory Council (COBAC): Council membership is composed of local civic leaders who advise the executive directors of local Community Options offices on important issues, help to organize and carry out fundraising activities, and to extablish and maintain corporate and civic ties in each locality where Community Options operates a program. The Council also provides expertise in identifying vendors, analyzing local labor markets, locating job opportunities and developing business plans for micro-enterprises.

Community Options Incubation Network (COINet): a business incubator designed to afford entrepreneurs with disabilities an opportunity to pursue their business boals and coontribute to economic growth withint their communities. This model of business incubation supports and encourages entrepreneurial development in the disability market. The program is based in Morristown and Princeton. The common interest for all new firms supported by the program is the development of new products, processes and services targeted to the disabiity market.
