DESCRIPTION
An non-profit organization that brings together people
interested in the entire Civil War period, not only the military
aspects, but the civilian, social and cultural experiences as well.
It is also dedicated to preservation, and in 1994 restored and
rededicated the Swamp Angel Civil War Cannon Monument in
Cadwalader Park in Trenton and various other projects since
then. The monthly meetings feature prominent authors, famous
historians, and other experts on the Civil War era. It belongs
to a consortium of eight Civil War discussion groups from the
Greater Delaware Valley. It also operates the Civil War and
Native American Museum in Veterans Park (see separate entry).
PROGRAMS
History Nights: Programs presented several times during the
year with other organizations who represent different historical
groups and eras.
Annual Camp Olden Civil War Reenactment: An event hosted in
conjunction with Hamilton Township, which presents Civil War
reenactors recreating the famous battles and camp life of the
Civil War. The location is Veterans Park.
Junior Camp Olden Day: An educational program for children
from 8-13 years of age. The children choose to portray Union
or Confederate soldiers, northern ladies, southern belles,
