DESCRIPTION
A private, not-for-profit agency enabling individuals with disabilities to live fully and independently in their communities. Enable offers home renovations, in-home care, respite and vocational services and group homes.

PROGRAMS
Residential Services: Persons with developmental and physical disabilities are served in 11 group homes (in Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth and Somerset counties) receiving 24/7 assistance; or through Support Living which provides in-home services to people living on their own; or through Supervised Apartmenet settings.

In-Home Care: Persons with disabilities who are living independently in the community receive help with daily living tasks such as cooking, grocery shopping and personal care

Respite Care: Relief to family members who give round-the-clock care is provided in a variety of forms, in-home or out-of-home, by Enable staff or by financial assistance for a family to make its own arrangements. The Saturday Drop-Off Program in Hamilton gives parents an afternoon to rest. Through Respite Co-Options, Enable oversees financial assistance to family co-operatives which hold activities that help families form supportive relationships

Accessibilities Services: Provides minor home modifications, such as ramps, wider doors, and stairglides, that allow individuals to continue to live in their own homes. Enable oversees projects to completion and offers financial assistance.

Day Program: An adult training center which offers a variety of activites both at the center and in the community.
