DESCRIPTION
The Center for Grief Suppport offers a caring staff of trained professionals whose experience, empathy and understanding can help people cope with the loss of a loved one. In addition to individual and family counseling, the Center hosts a number of support groups created to fill a unique need. Groups for children and adults bring people together with similar losses, such as younger widows and widowers, younger children, and women who have lost their mothers. The resources of theCenter are open to anyone in the community who has experienced a loss, regardless of whether or not they have used other Samaritan services

SERVICES
Information on, and help with, the grieving process

PROGRAMS
Alone in Grief, Healing Together (ALIGHT): An informal support group for people coping with the recent loss of a loved one. A one-time group meeting offers the oppportunity to talk with a professional bereavement counselor, an introduction to the support group setting and information on community resources. Sessions are provided for all residents of Mercer, Burlington, Camden or Gloucester counties.

Bereaved Parents: a support group that addresses the life-altering loss of a child. The group meets once per week for six or eight sessions. This group is offered at no charge to all members of the community. Pre-registration is required. Call the Samaritan Center for Grief Support at 800-596-8550 or 856-596-8550.

Big Hurts, Little Tears: the area's only play/grief support group for children 3-5 years old, the group meets for three sessions. This group is offered at no charge to all members of the community. Pre-register by calling the Center at 800-596-8550 or 856-596-8550.

Early Endings: a support group for younger adults grieving the loss of a spouse or partner. The group meets once per week for six sessions. This group is offered at no charge to all members of the community. Pre-register by calling the Center at 800-596-8550 or 856-596-8550.

Daughters Without Mothers: A support group for adult women grieving the loss of a mother. This service is provided at no charge to all residents of Mercer, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Atlantic and Cape May counties. Pet Loss Support Group: A support group for people who have experienced the loss of a beloved pet. First three TUE of a scheduled month. The first two meetings are for adults only; the last meeting is for adults and children (ages 6-14). Please call for dates, times and locations. Sharing in Grief and Hope (SIGH): A support group for those grieving the loss of a family member or friend. The service is provided at no charge to all residents of Merer, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Atlantic and Cape May counties. Grieving the Love of Your Life: A support group for those grieving the loss of a spouse or partner. The group meets once a week for six sessions and is offered at no charge to all members of the community. Pre-register by calling 800-596-8550 or 856-596-8550.

Just the Guys: A support group for adult men grieving the loss of a family member or friend. Instead of the focus being on processing emotions, members take active approaches to their grief. The group meets once a week for six sessions and is offered at no charge to members of the community. Pre-register by calling 800-596-8550 or 856-596-8550.

Leukemia and Lymphoma Support Group: Provided in collaboration with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (see separate entry), this support group is for adults grieving the loss of a loved one due to a long chronic illness. The group meets once a week for six sessions.
