PROGRAMS
Academic Success Today (AST): Mentor program which pairs at-risk Princeton youth from John Witherspoon Middle School with adults from the community who serve as positive role models and education advocates. Provides support and tutoring for a specific academic goal and project. Call, 609-924-8018 to volunteer.

Teen Advisory Group: Program in which high school juniors are trained in alcohol and drug prevention; they then lead education workshops for middle school students, parents and the community at large.

New Choices Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program: A counseling program in which adolescents make a commitment to receive substance abuse treatment services for nine hours each week.

Community Prevention Resource and Education Project ( C-PREP): Project's mission is to provide a central location to disseminate information, education and referral options to the greater Princeton community on a wide range of life issues and mental health matters.

World of Work for Youth Program: Targets at-risk teens at Princeton High, ages 15-18. The goal is to teach job preparation strategies and practical life skills in the context of career exploration and community service. The program promotes self-esteem and provides teens with the chance to see themselves as responsible, self-reliant, contributing members of the community.

Several other prevention/education programs operate throughout the year. Call for information, or visit website.

GAIA - Growing Up Accepted as an Individual in America: The GAIA project will train high school students as peer leaders eager to address the multicultural and diversity issues and difficulties facing their school and community. The project title was specially selected to recognize each person's responsibility to the world community in which we live and acknowledge the value of cultural differences as we all seek balance in a changing, and often confusing world.
