SCHOLARSHIPS
Certificate for Non-Profit Management Program: CHPRD provides four scholarships to employees of Hispanic community-based organizations or alumni of the Hispanic Interns in the Community Service Program who are employed by a non-profit to enroll in the Certificate for Non-Profit Management program in Rutgers University Newark Department of Public Administration
Southern Regional Leadership Institute: a partnership with Rutgers Center for Strategic Urban Community Leadership to provide scholarships to directors or staff members of Hispanic community-based organizations located in the southern region of New Jersey to participate in a leadership institute.
The Center for Hispanic Policy, Research and Development (CHPRD) and its Foundation are partnering to provide two $2,500.00 scholarships for the New Jersey Economic Development Agency's Entrepreneurial Training Institute (ETI). The eight-week ETI Not-for-Profit training course program is designed to help not-for-profit organizations become more self-sufficient and reduce their reliance on long-term grant funding. Hispanic non-profits enrolled in the not-for-profit curriculum complete a market analysis to identify the need for services their organizations provide. They also review planning, marketing and financial fundamentals and learn how to develop resources and organize boards to ensure that their agency runs efficiently and effectively. The scholarship will include assessment, ETI and target facilitation during class, then business mentoring. Organizations must undergo an assessment for enrollment and demonstrate their board's support and staffing capacity to carry out a proposed business initiative.
