DESCRIPTION
A county government agency which operates the federally funded Workforce Investment Act (WIA), a program which offers Mercer County residents, aged 16 and over, job readiness and placement services, and if appropriate, training in high demand occupations. It also offers employers on-the-job training and enables employers to receive tax credits by hiring employees from designated target groups.

SERVICES
Services to Job Seekers: Internet access to America's and New Jersey's job banks; resumes posted on America's Talent Bank; career assessment; Employment Service registration; Re-employment call-in center (UI claims); use of phone and FAX; aptitude, interest and basic skills testing. Vocational training if appropriate
Services to Employers: Access to job seekers virtually via WNJPIN (America's Talent Bank) and One-Stop Center in all formats; Access to labor market information; recruitment testing and referral of qualified applicants; pool of recently trained job seekers; salary reimbursement while training new employees; tax credit opportunities; assistance in meeting State and Federal Equal Opportunity requirements; referral to task analysis and job restructuring/upgrading assistance; skill and aptitude testing for current employees; mass recruitment at our site
