DESCRIPTION
A state chapter of a national organization founded for the purposes of sharing genealogical and historical research techniques and efforts, and to conduct educational programs and exhibits designed to promote African-American family history and research in New Jersey.

PROGRAMS
Among the programs currently sponsored are programs on Afro-American historical events; February's Black History Month Program; a program including publications of people of color by each state county in the 1880 census.
