DESCRIPTION
The government agency, administered by the New Jersey Commerce & Economic Growth Commission, which assists and encourages the establishment, growth and expansion of small businesses and women and minority owned enterprises by offering information and assistance, and by shaping public policies that affect the small business community.

PROGRAMS
Set-Aside and Certification Program: Provides New Jersey small businesses with support and assistance in procurement/bidding for State and Federal contracts, registration for set-aside contracts, and certification. Call 1-888-239-1288
Selective Assistance Vendor Information Database (SAVI-II): A computerized central registry of certified/registered businesses and their related products and services. It affords both state and private sector buyers the opportunity to locate businesses for bidding and direct purchases. Call 609-292-2146.
Small Business Development Centers: Provides funding for these centers throughout the state which provide technical assistance to small businesses.

Doing Business in New Jersey - A comprehensive guidebook which provides small business owners with the resources necessary to start or expand a business in New Jersey.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Ongoing workshops that teach small, woman and/or minority business owners about: the state's 57 agencies and how they buy; different types of contracts and payment methods; how to read a bid application from the Dept. of Treasury; how to respond to different types of bids; how contract recipients (vendors) are determined by the state; attending pre-bid conferences; and how to bid for a corporate contract
