DESCRIPTION
A private, non-profit counseling, education, outpatient substance abuse and mental health center serving children, adolescents, adults and seniors. Staff includes social workers, clinical psychologists, psychotherapists, and psychiatrists. Fees are on a sliding scale. Approved for Medicare, and medical insurance. Three offices are located in Princeton and Hightstown.

Emergency financial assistance - Job/daily necessities, camp scholarships, etc. - Needy Princeton area residents

Psychotherapy and psychiatric medication management
Support groups - Women, men, young mothers, young teens, incest survivors, separation and divorce, IDRC
Employee assistance - Counseling for employees and seminars/workshops for employers

PROGRAMS
Women's Group: Support group for women exploring issues of the past and visions for the future. Call for current schedule.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Range of services including assessment and short-term counseling to employees via employer contract. Also provides workshops on a wide range of topics such as stress management, team building and conflict resolution, and other work-related issues to help managers, employees and organizations function more effectively.

Family-Child Home Program: Home-based, play-oriented, early intervention education program for less advantaged children ages 18-30 months and their parents. Tania Tapia, Program Coordinator, 732-545-0366

Holiday Christmas Fund: Monies collected by FACS at the December holiday season which help people who are facing difficult circumstances with insufficient resources. Emergency and supplemental aid is administered by Family and Children's Services.

FOUNDED
Family Service Princeton Area was founded in 1898. In Oct., 1995 it merged with Family Service Assoc. of Middlesex County to become Family and Children's Services of Central New Jersey.
