DESCRIPTION
A non-profit, volunteer organization which addresses the needs of persons affected by Alzheimer's disease and their families in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren Counties through support, education, information and referral, advocacy and research. It is a local chapter of the National Alzheimer's Association.

PROGRAMS
Support Groups: Support groups throughout 14 county service areas which conduct monthly meetings to share experiences for caregivers, family and friends of those with Alzheimer's.
Princeton Support Group: Professionally-run support and information meetings for caregivers and family members of Alzheimer's individuals. Includes early diagnosis support group. Meets third SAT of the month, 2:00 PM; Princeton Biomedical Research, Suite 6, Woodlands Prof. Bldg., 256 Bunn Dr., Princeton. Contact Eileen Doremus, 609-514-1180.
Safe Return Program: Nation-wide, community-based program which helps identify, locate and return to safety individuals who wander and become lost due to Alzheimer's disease or a related disorder. The one-time $40 registration fee includes identification bracelet, clothing labels, wallet card, and storage of pertinent information in a national registry.
Respite Care Program: Respite Care Program for Caregivers enables families to obtain the temporary relief that the vitally need in order to reduce heavy demands associated with caring for someone 24 hours per day.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Memory Walk: Fall fundraiser in which walkers are sponsored by relatives, neighbors and co-workers who pledge donations. Competitive recognition is given to teams of Walkers.
Polo Classic: spring fundraiser featuring an afternoon of polo, tailgate picnics, corporate tents, antique and classic cars, hot air balloons and children's entertainment.
Legendary Links Golf Raffle: A spring fundraiser for which raffle prizes are rounds of golf at New Jerey's most prestigious golf clubs.
