DESCRIPTION
A private, non-profit organization which promotes and produces cultural and educational activities in the performing, creative, and visual arts. It provides a unique forum for artistic experimentation, learning, and development for groups and individuals.

SERVICES
Education - non-credit courses, workshops, instruction - Children-teens-adults
Recreation/leisure activities - entertainment - Concerts, readings, street and film festivals, art exhibits, photography, ceramics
Meeting facilities - Studio, rehearsal, meeting space
Camps, spring break and summer day - Art/multi-media, poetry, writing, ceramics, drama - Children
Companionship - Art instruction, conversation - Trenton area children

PROGRAMS
Classes, workshops and instruction: Drawing, painting, watercolor, ceramics, photography, writing, poetry, fiction, acting, Spanish dance, creative dance

Meeting facilities: Studio, rehearsal or meeting space is provided to local artists or organizations at affordable rates.

Arts Exchange Program: Art instruction, snacks and conversation for Trenton children, temporarily homeless, who are lodged in motels.

ConTEMPORARY Gallery: Space displaying an average of 9 exhibitions or juried group shows annually; features the work of emerging artists, in addition to the annual "small works" show, and workshops for children and adults based on the exhibits..

Poetry Slams: Biannual "friendly" competitions for new and established slammers.

Cafe Improv: Open stage for acoustic musicians, poets, etc., on the fourth Saturday of the month; 9:00 PM-12:00 AM.

Under Age (annual anthology) - poetry and prose by writers under age 18 from the Princeton area

SPECIAL EVENTS
Dining by Design: Annual fall benefit consisting of dinner accompanied by art and music in area private homes. It also includes an auction
Valentine Workshop: Annual valentine-making festival.
Communiversity: Annual April outdoor festival of the arts held in downtown Princeton streets and Princeton University. Co-sponsored with Princeton Borough and the students of Princeton University, it showcases performing and visual artists and offers food, crafts, and entertainment for people of all ages.
Under Age: Annual spring reading and author party to celebrate the publication of the anthology of the same name.
Hometown Halloween Parade: Annual town-wide parade at dusk the night before Halloween, followed by refreshments on the green in front of the Nassau Inn.
Christmas Eve Caroling: Annual singing, brass band serenade, and an appearance by Santa.
Family Fun Days: monthly. Saturday parent and child creative workshop programs held during school term.

SCHOLARSHIPS
The Howard B. Waxwood Scholarship. George Dale Scholarship for John-Witherspoon neighborhood children. Amount varies; elegibility determined by financial need and funds available.
