Fast and simple takes the gold
It may not be the Olympics, but in my house, it is definitely worthy of an award. “Real Simple Easy, Delicious Home Cooking: A Year of Fresh, Healthy Recipes for Every Occasion” is the latest cookbook I’ve checked out of the library, and it is a terrific resource for fuss-free, healthy recipes using a minimum of ingredients. Last night’s culinary adventure yielded pasta with goat cheese and basil oil, a sophisticated summertime macaroni and cheese for adults.Yum! Divided by season and paired with beautiful photos, these fast, simple and delicious recipes have the potential to become staples for those looking for something new in their weekly menus.
If you’re in the market for more fast, reliable recipes, browse our cookbook aisle on the second floor. Look for the call number 641.55 and you’re sure to find some great treasures in simplicity, including Real Simple’s “Meals Made Simple: Quick and delicious recipes for every night of the week;” America’s Test Kitchen’s “The Best Simple Recipes;” Cook’s Illustrated “The Best 30-Minute Recipe;” and Mark Bittman’s “Kitchen Express: 404 inspired seasonal dishes you can make in 20 minutes or less.”
Great. I’m starved. What’s for dinner?
